MAINTENANCE MAN II: MONEY, POLITICS & SEX...EVERYONE HAS A PRICE.
By Michael Baisden
In “Maintenance Man II: Money, Politics and Sex…Everyone Has A Price” Baisden builds upon the saga of his former main character, Malcolm Tremell, a gigolo who first came to life in Baisden’s 1999 release “The Maintenance Man.” “The Maintenance Man” saw the author gain notoriety for unapologetically disclosing the lifestyle of a man who rendezvoused for pay with married women. The original “Maintenance Man” followed a litany of releases, including “Never Satisfied: How and Why Men Cheat,” and “Men Cry in the Dark” and solidified his stance as one of the most successful self-published male authors on the literary scene.
With “Maintenance Man II,” Baisden broadens the storyline as Tremell comes out of retirement to not only rebuild his contact list of high-end female clientele, but also franchise a male escort service worldwide. Intrigue, drama and danger quickly come into play when Tremell liaisons with the wife of a powerful and corrupt Republican senator. When they unwittingly uncover the senator’s underhanded deal with the powerful Kross brothers for political control, Tremell will have to tap his military training and street smarts to not only save his life, but also those closest to him.
Baisden, once again educates as he entertains, brilliantly engaging his readers. Utilizing Malcolm Tremell as the ultimate Renaissance man protagonist, he brazenly unveils several harsh and dark realities behind the current political process. He skillfully touches on some of the most critical political issues to date, including voter suppression as well as corporate greed, seamlessly interspersing them between a romantic and politically charged plot. The novel’s tone is captivating and inviting, whisking the reader into a non-stop escapade of sex, action and adventure.
After years of being out of the gigolo lifestyle, Malcolm has to rebuild his list of contacts and high-end clientele. But he still has his good looks, his Rolodex, and his reputation. This time he vows that nothing will stand in his way of getting back on top and creating a franchise of escort services worldwide. He disguises his gigolo lifestyle as a nightclub owner in Miami—the perfect cover to mix business with pleasure.
But with high rewards come high risks. Malcolm’s world is turned upside down when he begins a relationship with Alex Nelson, the wife of a powerful and corrupt U.S. Senator. When Alex and Malcolm are suspected of knowing too much about an unscrupulous billion-dollar deal they suddenly becomes targets. He will need all of his military training and street smarts to get his life back and to get revenge!

This book will definitely draw you in wanting more!! I would love to see this book on the big screen!!

Maintenance Man II

I have a very good memory, and I don't recall that Malcolm was a Navy Seal, I think it is ridiculous to transform him into this now, he was basically a killer, and assassin. It was such a huge stretch. Like who forgets to mention I was a Navy Seal!!! He (Michael Baisden) should have just created another story line. It was an ok read, but I kept getting distracted trying to think of Malcolm as killer, and the politics, just an overflow from the election. Would have been better with a new title and cast of characters.

Maintenance Man II

This book had very little to do with sex, or 'Maintenance' but a lot of action. I will admit its not what I expected. It was a good read but over rated. I would recommend this book, if you are into reading action novels.

This book is enjoyable light reading. It is a quick read. When you think you heard everything here comes a man who can 'SEX' all your problems away, women pay a hefty price for this honor. Even the maintenance man realize he needs true romance. This is what Malcom Tremell finds out.

In Need of A Good Plumbing?
When a woman is in need of a good maintenance man, they call on Malcolm. From the way Michael Baisden describes Malcolm, I can understand why the women instantly fall for his arrogant behind. He was entertaining to read, although all the other secondary characters held my attention more. There wasn't as much sex scenes as I assumed there would be and that's ok.
I would have loved to get a update on Ariel's situation during the epilogue. I was kind of left with a couple

Well since I listen to him on the radio from time to time I thought it might be interesting to check out his writing. Let me start out by saying, I didn't have high hopes. Why, well I just don't think of him as an author.
Well, well what a surprise. It actually was readable and entertaining. Not one of the best books I've read but it was worth the time. The characters were interesting and the storyline worked.
Not sure I'll read another book by him, but this one was passable.
Admittedly, I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. Once I started reading, I didn't stop. The story was well written, and all of the characters were relatable. This book made me look at romantic relationships, family bonds, and friendship from different perspectives. I found myself willing characters to act a certain way, hoping certain situations would happen a particular way, and cheering when things went well. I'm anxious to read part 2, now.

This was just an entertaining book to read. You're basically following the life of a gigolo and all the self-inflicted drama that comes with it as he attempts to get out of the game. I enjoyed it a lot.
This was a very good read.
Excellent book. Full of excitement. I recommend it. Life lessons throughout the book.

I give this book 4.7. After reading Junie B Jones books, this was the first book I ever read in the Urban Book Genre. I was on chapter 7 when it was taken away from me lol. I loved it the first time and when I was old enough to read it I loved it. Some part was predictable and some part was not, however, I loved the different perspectives. I love how each character was somehow connected in some way.
Sometimes I think about reading it all over again just for nostalgia.

I thought this was going to be a raunchy book mainly about him smashing, but it wasn't. There was actually a story line that I followed and found typical but engaging. I read it pretty quick because I found the characters very relatable. This book had a little bit of everything I liked. Not bad at all. I would definitely read another book by this author.
Oh, what I did NOT like was the incorrect usage of 'you're' instead of 'your'. Surprised me that it wasn't caught in the editing process.
This book interesting I can say the least very nice too see a man point of view of love sex and all that other good stuff I high recomend read this book when I was 19 still remember the characters and the story will read again

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end! I laughed I cried I got mad at some of the characters of the book lol. I just found out there's a part 2 of this book I can't wait to read it and other great reads by Michael Baisden! I believe that every woman needs a maintenance man !
I've been a fan of Michael Baisden since the late 90's. I really enjoyed his first book as well. This novel was pretty good. I listen to his radio show on a daily basis. Good job sir!
A very good book and interesting read. I enjoyed reading about the ups and downs of love and am thrilled to see that love conquered all. Good job Mr. Baisden
Very sexy

I read this book when I was about 19 after seeing the stage play some years ago. I would recommend this book to anyone going through a situation where it seems love is out of reach. Amazing love story. I actually cried towards the end. Must read for everyone.

I must admit I wasn't sure where this story was going, and I wasn't quite sure how all the characters related, but once I got the hang of the writing flow of Michael's, I loved this book.
What I enjoyed is the fact that there were several people's lives you followed and eventually they each connected in some way. I have to say Malcolm was a very arrogant &^%$*& and I didn't like him at first, but once I got to know the male prostitute, he grew on me.

This had the potential to be a really good book but unfortunately, Michael Baisden chose to write a very predictable and stereotypical book about Black men and relationships. I did enjoy the drama but the ending was just too rushed, too cookie cutter, and too unbelievable for me. I did not feel that the characters learned any life lessons, they were forgiven too easily, and honestly, the book didn't have a real message or point in my opinion. 3 stars for the drama/entertainment... but 2 for exec...more

Excellent
5 star because the readers can relate to the events that occurred in the story. Every emotion could be felt, readers could feel as if they were involved or caught up in every turn of events, not only that, there's a lot to this story that's real life and thought provoking.
As an avid reader, I appreciate a good book, and an author who not only makes me as feel involved, but also keep my attention.

This book was an easy read. You always found yourself trying to figure out what Malcolm was going to do next. While the book ended well, I think that the author/editor got a little mixed up because they incorrectly talked about Simon's club being in Miami but it was really in Atlanta (just a minor slip up). The books was a good read and I thank my book club members for the suggestion, as I probably would not have read it.

This was the first Michael Baisden book I read. This is my 2nd time reading this book. My first time reading this book was in 2004, & when I heard it was available for Kindle I was so happy. It took me 2 days to finish reading it. The storyline was really good. I love Malcolm, he sound so smooth & sexy. I am so glad I purchased this book I can't wait to read the MAINTENANCE MAN 2.

Wonderful read! When I was 20 or 21 (maybe 19), I read this book and was estactic b/c I was now reading a BIG GIRL book. Of course back then, being so young, I was BLOWN away by the content in this novel, now I'm 28 and way more estactic. My rereading this has shown me different things about life and relationships. GOOD READ :)

Not the worst or the best
Well, I didn't dislike this book, but I think the name should be changed to maintenance men. The story is not focused on one character, but many. The story was a little all over the place and it felt rushed towards the end to tie all of the side stories together. Not the worst but not the best either. Not sure if I will read part 2.
A waste of time. Filled with negative stereotypes of pathetic, lonely single women and arrogant, macho, single men...or man. Sadly, my bookclub read the hardback version when it first came out. Almost $30 down the drain. I really wanted to like it.
The book was disappointing. It seemed to be a black man's 007. A gigolo, a navy seal, club owner and a gigolo manager was a bit too much. It was not well written. Malcolm was over the top and the plot was too predictable.

Typical urban novel. This is worse than a Tyler Perry movie. Trashy individuals doing trashy things that you can see are going to come to a trashy end. Vulgar, forced dialogue, and no real connections or plot base. This book has the depth of a sippy cup.

When it comes to entertaining, enlightening and educating, no one in talk radio compares to Michael Baisden. His high-octane energy and love for interacting with his listeners is just one reason for the popularity and success of The Michael Baisden Show.
